Ky Sam Temple was built during the Ly Dynasty, worshiping the famous general Nung Tri Cao - a Tay ethnic hero who lived in the 11th century, who had great contributions in protecting the country under the reign of King Ly Thai Tong. With his outstanding military talent, he achieved many glorious feats, defeated the invading Song army, was awarded the title Thai Bao by the King and was recorded in history books, becoming the pride of the Cao Bang people. After his death, King Ly conferred him the title Khau Sam Dai Vuong. With its great historical and cultural values, Ky Sam Temple has been recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Relic since 1993.
The Ky Sam Temple Festival (City) was held from the evening of the 9th to the end of the 10th day of the first lunar month, consisting of two parts: the ceremony and the festival. The ceremony took place on the night of the 9th, with traditional rituals such as incense offering and sacrifices in a sacred and solemn atmosphere.
This year's Ky Sam Temple Festival is held with many unique spring art programs combined with Then singing, Tinh lute making, calligraphy, local product display and traditional folk games such as: throwing con, bamboo swing, grass weaving, Chinese chess, blindfolded ball hitting... All create a bustling, joyful spring atmosphere, contributing to honoring the traditional cultural beauty of the Cao Bang region.
