Meeting of the Working Group of the Sub-Committees for the 8th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium

The meeting approved the Decision on the establishment and Draft Plan, assigning tasks to the Working Group of the Subcommittee on P, L, C of the 8th APGN Symposium in 2024 in Cao Bang; discussed the Plan to implement the tasks of the Working Group of the Subcommittee on P, L, C.

The Symposium is expected to take place from September 7 to 15, 2024 on an international scale, chaired by the People's Committee of Cao Bang province. The conference will have about 1,000 domestic and international delegates from more than 90 Geoparks in the UNESCO Global Geopark Network (UGGpN) attending.

Draft Plan assigning specific tasks to members of the Working Group of the Subcommittee on P, L, C related to the following contents: organizing training courses and field surveys; designing, printing and constructing the Conference Identifier; managing and operating the Symposium delegate registration portal at the access address https://www.apgn2024.vn/vi; preparing to welcome delegates before and during the Symposium; arranging meeting rooms and halls to serve events and sessions; displaying booths promoting the Geopark, cultural space and OCOP; exhibiting beautiful photos of Cao Bang tourism and Non nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark; organizing special art performances and cultural, artistic, sports activities at Kim Dong walking street; marginal activities…

At the meeting, members of the Working Group of the Subcommittee on P, L, C focused on exchanging and discussing to clarify the plans for assigning teams and professional groups in charge of work; ensuring the reception and arranging transportation for delegates attending the Symposium safely and thoughtfully; preparing a script for special art performances at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Welcome Banquet and Farewell Party of the Provincial People's Committee; preparing facilities, technical logistics to serve the Symposium; preparing menus for each party, ensuring cultural elements according to regions, religions, etc. Besides, some opinions suggest promptly developing a detailed task assignment plan along with a timeline that ensures alignment with the practical implementation of the tasks.

Concluding the meeting, the Deputy Director of the DCST - Ms. Doan Thi Le An highly appreciated all the contributions. At the same time, she urged the members to promote their sense of responsibility, strengthen coordination, advise on the development and implementation of tasks according to the plan; requested the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark to synthesize and complete the Task Assignment Plan of the P, L, C Subcommittee. Thereby contributing to the preparation for organizing the 8th APGN Symposium in 2024 in Cao Bang, vast promoting activities to connect tourism, culture, and geological science of Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp to domestic and international friends.
