On the afternoon of September 13, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Anh had a courtesy reception for the UNESCO Haunte - Provence Global Geopark (France) delegation led by Ms. Patricia Granet-Brunello, Mayor of Digne-les-Bains and president of Provence Alpes Agglomération was the leader of the delegation. Also attending were Mr. Trinh Truong Huy, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Foreign Affairs.

Expressing at the reception, Mr. Hoang Xuan Anh said that Cao Bang province was very happy and excited to welcome the delegation. The delegation's visit and work are important in contributing to promoting the cooperative relationship between Vietnam - France in general, between Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark and UNESCO Haunte - Provence Global Geopark in particular. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Anh was pleased to welcome and work with the delegation of the UNESCO Haunte-Provence Global Geopark.

Mr. Hoang Xuan Anh added that in 2018 in France, after the 204th session in Paris of the UNESCO Executive Council, the delegation of Cao Bang province had the opportunity to survey and learn experiences on conservation. Effectively exploit natural heritage in Haute-Provence park and be very impressed with honey and olive oil farms, vast lavender fields and lavender essential oil extraction facilities,... In particular, Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark and Haute-Provence Geopark of France signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation on management and development of the Geopark. This is an important cooperation event because Haute-Provence Geopark is considered a model in preserving geological heritage and building strong local communities.

Ms. Patricia Granet-Brunello hopes that the relationship and cooperation between UNESCO Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark and UNESCO Haute-Provence Global Geopark will be increasingly strengthened.

Leaders of Cao Bang province introduced the French delegation to the UNESCO Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark. This is a land favored by nature and a long-standing home of the local ethnic minority community. On that basis, Cao Bang province has formed many community tourism destinations to attract tourists to visit.

After listening to the information from the leaders of Cao Bang province, representatives of Haunte - Provence Geopark congratulated Cao Bang for its development in tourism, socio-economics as well as the successful organization of the APGN symposium. Through the business trip of the UNESCO Haunte - Provence Global Geopark Delegation in Cao Bang today, Mrs. Mayor wishes to further tighten the relationship and cooperation between the two global Geoparks, promoting the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides in France before.
