The UNESCO Global Geopark Network experts met with the People's Committee of Cao Bang province

On May 25th, 2022, at the Office of the People's Committee of Cao Bang Province, the UNESCO Global Geopark Network delegation led by Guy Martini, Chairperson of the UNESCO Global Geopark Council met with the People's Committee of Cao Bang province. Mr. Le Hai Hoa, Member of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee -Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.

Virtual meeting on discussing the cooperation agreement establishment between Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark (Vietnam) and Leye - Fengshan UNESCO Global Geopark (China)

On April 29th, the virtual meeting to discuss the cooperation agreement establishment between Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark (Vietnam) and Leye-Fengshan UNESCO Global Geopark (China) took place at the Meeting Hall of Cao Bang Department of Foreign Affairs.

The partner network of the Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark learns experience in community-based tourism development in the Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark (Ha Giang)

In order to develop sustainable and equitable community-based tourism in the Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark territory, from April 24-27, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp organized an experience learning trip to learn about experience in the implementation of tourism activities, sharing benefits in the community associated with environmental protection at partner establishments of Dong Van Karst Plateau UGGp (Ha Giang province).

Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp and Dong Van Karst Plateau UGGp cooperated to conduct a field survey to open a new experience route connecting the two geoparks

From April 19th to April 25th, 2022, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp and Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark (Ha Giang) conducted a field survey at heritage sites on the way from Meo Vac town, Lung Pu, Khau Vai, Niem Tong (in Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province) to Tong Ac hamlet, Ly Bon commune (in Bao Lam district, Cao Bang province), Bao Lac town, and the communes of Xuan Truong, Hong An, Kim Cuc (in Bao Lac district, Cao Bang province) to connect the North route of Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp named “Experience History and Freedom” in Ha Quang district.

Workshop on start-up orientation on sustainable tourism development in the Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp territory for the youth

On April 20th, 2022, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp collaborated with Cao Bang Provincial Youth Union to organize a workshop on start-up orientation on sustainable tourism development in the Cao Bang UGGp territory for the youth.

Orienting sustainable and equitable tourism development in Khuoi Ky stone village

On May 13th, 2022, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark in collaboration with the People's Committee of Trung Khanh district and the People's Committee of Dam Thuy commune met with 34 households from Ban Gun hamlet and representatives from the hamlets of Bong Son, Ban Thuon, in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district on sustainable tourism development.

On April 21th, 2022, the Global Geoparks Network in collaboration with UNESCO Earth Sciences and Geo-Hazard Risk Reduction Section organized a live Welcome digital event for the 8 new UNESCO Global Geoparks.

On April 7th, 2022, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp conducted a filed survey and met with the villagers of Hang Thoang hamlet, Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district on developing environmentally friendly agriculture for environmental protection and sustainable tourism development in the Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp territory.

Geopark communication activities in Cao Bang high school for the gifted

     On January 10th, 2022, the “Geopark Ambassador club” and Youth Union of Cao Bang High school for the Gifted cooperated to organize a geopark promotion session to students of the school.

On December 30th, 2021, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark held a workshop with Geopark partners to review the activities of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark’s partner network in 2021, discuss, and provide inputs for the Activity plan of 2022.

Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark participated the digital 9th international conference on Unesco global geoparks

From December 12th to December 16th, 2021, the Digital 9th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geoparks was organized in Jeju Island UGGp (Public of Korea) with the theme “Fun Geopark”, attracting more than 400 participants from 52 countries all around the world.

On December 13th, 2021, the APGN CC held an online meeting to evaluate the network's activities in 2021, share good practices of the geopark members in and future work in the context of prolonged Covid-19 pandemic.

School clubs – The platform for the improvement of different skills for students

The activities of school clubs or student associations in Cao Bang province are becoming more and more exciting, facilitating students to showcase their capacities in different aspects. This makes an important contribution to improving the quality of comprehensive education, and at the same time improves the practical quality of Youth union and children’s movement.

On October 28th, 2021, at the Center Cultural Hall of Cao Bang city, the Final Round of the “Ambassador of Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO global geopark” contest for secondary and high school students in the geopark territory was organized.

On August 26th, 2021, Le Thu Trang, representative of Non Nuoc Cao Bang UGGp won the first prize of the contest "Finding youth representative to attend UNESCO Global Geoparks Youth Forum" organized by the Sub-committee for Vietnam UNESCO global geoparks, Viet Nam National Commission for UNESCO, and became the official representative of Vietnam to the 1st UNESCO Global Geoparks Youth Forum expected to be held in Jeju Island, Korea.
