This competition is not only a knowledgable and creative playground but also an opportunity for students to explore and preserve the ethnic minorities’ languages. It plays an important role in protecting the indigenous languages from the risk of disappearance. It also widely spreads the message of preserving cultural heritage, promoting tourism and sustainable development in the Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark territory.
Participants
The competition targets to members of the “Geopark Ambassador” clubs from secondary and high schools in Cao Bang City and the districts of Quang Hoa, Trung Khanh, Ha Lang, Hoa An, Ha Quang, Nguyen Binh, and Thach An (schools in the Geopark territory). Each competing team will consist of a maximum of 5 students.

- Launching of the competition: March 26, 2025
- Deadline for submitting entries: April 25, 2025
- Preliminary reviewing of entries: April 28 - 29, 2025 (results announced on May 5, 2025)
- Semi-final round: May 20, 2025 (results announced after scoring
- Final round: May 29, 2025
Competition Content
The competition will focus on the following contents:
- Presenting the activities on preserving ethnic languages that “Geopark Ambassasdor” clubs conducted in their schools;
- Promoting the geological, cultural, historical, biodiversity, and natural landscape values of the Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark in Tày and Nùng languages;
- Communicating the message of joining hands to preserve and promote heritage values, sustainable tourism, and environmental protection in the Geopark territory.
Competition Format
At the Preliminary Round, the judges will review the dossiers submitted. Each dossier consists of a report on the results of ethnic language preservation activities and written scripts for talent performance (e.g. poetry, folk songs, composing new lyrics to folk tunes, etc., drawing, etc.).
The Semifinal Round includes two parts. Students will make an oral presentation on the actvities that their clubs have conducted regarding indigenous language preservation in the Tay, Nung languages. The other part is their talent performances in various such as singing, drawing, reciting poetry, acting, etc.).
The Final Round consits of 3 parts: Knowledge Quiz-Students will answer a quiz of 20 questions about the heritage values of the Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark in Tày, Nùng languages; Talent Performance and Question-and-answer session - Students will answer a randomly drawn question, demonstrating their ability to improvise and their understanding of the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark.
Along with organizing the Contest, we are actively communcating about the contest and the importance of preserving indigenous languages and traditional cultures on the Geopark’s social channels.
The Contest will contribute to diversifying the Geopark education activities in schools, improving the efficiency of “Geopark Ambassador” Clubs, and creating a movement for youth to learn and use their ethnic languages. Furthermore, contributing to cultural preservation, tourism promotion, and environmental protection by celebrating Cao Bang's rich geological, historical, and natural heritage.
