As part of the program, the delegation surveyed and evaluated heritage sites along the western route – “Explore Phja Oac – The Mountain of Transformations,” including: the ancient coral site in Lang Mon, the Hoai Khao community-based tourism village, the Special National Historic Site of Tran Hung Dao Forest, Lung Rong landscape, Phja Oac landscape, Lung Muoi tungsten site, Phja Oac granite site, Ban O tungsten site, the Red Villa, and the Kolia Ecotourism Area.
At the heritage sites, the expert delegation assessed the management, protection, and utilization of infrastructure along the experiential routes of the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark. This included evaluations of new check-in location, directional and informational signage, parking areas, environmental sanitation, landscape preservation, as well as the conservation and promotion of local cultural values at community-based tourism sites; the presentation and bilingual (Vietnamese–English) interpretation at the heritage sites.
Notably, at the Hoai Khao community-based tourism village in Quang Thanh Commune (Nguyen Binh District), the experts had the opportunity to experience the unique cultural practice of using beeswax to print intricate patterns on fabric, a traditional technique used to create the elaborate and stunning costumes of Dao Tien women.
Through the field survey, the expert delegation will compile findings, assess the current status, and provide recommendations for the construction and development of the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark. They will also offer guidance on the implementation of tasks related to the development of the UNESCO Global Geopark Non Nuoc Cao Bang in 2025.
