At the meeting, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Sam Viet An, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the DoCST reported to the delegation on the progress of preparations for the APGN Symposium 2024.
At the meeting, delegates exchanged and discussed the solutions on promoting support for diplomatic reception work for international delegates; organizing press conferences, inviting foreign press agencies to widely promote the Symposium; Training for volunteers to ensure professionalism; agreed on the participants of bilateral courtesy meetings during the Symposium; well compiling the "Cao Bang Declaration" to create a wide spread to international delegates and friends; selecting sightseeing and experiencing heritage sites with pristine, majestic natural landscapes, and distinct indigenous cultures to honor the values of Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark and connecting with 3 Geoparks of : Ha Giang, Dak Nong, and Lang Son, etc.
zing the importance of the APGN 2024 Symposium, Ms. Le Thi Hong Van, Acting Director of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO, Secretary General of the Viet Nam National Commission for UNESCO affirmed that the Symposium is a key event of 2024 in coordination with UNESCO, contributing to promoting international cooperation and solidarity in global governance on the conservation and promotion of heritage values associated with sustainable development.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Viet Nam National Commission for UNESCO Ha Kim Ngoc acknowledged the efforts of Cao Bang Province in actively preparing for the Symposium in line with the timeline. The Deputy Minister requested the sub-committees and members of the Symposium Organizing Committee to continue to closely coordinate in implementing assigned tasks, ensuring that all diplomatic reception work - will be performed carefully. The Deputy Minister suggested that they compile the "Cao Bang Declaration" to spread to international friends and the United Nations; complete the contents for the event communication, promptly organize a press conference with the participation of international, central and local press agencies to provide in-depth information about the Symposium; promote convenient, quick and accurate visa procedures for foreign delegates; develop backup plans, handle on-site unexpected incidents so that activities take place according to the Master plan, creating satisfaction and leaving a good impression on delegates attending the Symposium. Thereby, contributing to spreading the values, good impressions of tourism, culture, and geological science of the Non Nuoc Cao Bang UGGp to domestic and international friends.
Accepting the direction of the Deputy Minister, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Anh expressed his wish that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Commission for UNESCO continue to advise and support Cao Bang province on immigration, diplomatic reception, welcoming delegates and -key contents in the 20th Anniversary of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Symposium. The Chairman requested the subcommittees and members of the Symposium Organizing Committee to continue to closely coordinate in implementing the preparatory tasks to ensure the Symposium will be organized successfully, promoting the signing of memorandum of agreement between Cao Bang Province, Viet Nam and other countries in many fields of tourism, culture, craft village product development, etc. contributing to building a united Global Geoparks Network for sustainable development.
