Communicating about Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark at “Introduction of Cao Bang” conference

Attending the event were Mr. Ha Kim Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Trieu Dinh Le, Deputy Standing Secretary of the Provincial Party, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Mr. Hoang Xuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; members of the Standing Committee of Provincial Party; the leaders of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly, Provincial Departments and Branches, enterprises and reprentatives of Ministries, foreign diplomatic agencies and localities to Viet Nam and international nongovermental organizations, etc.
The event aimed to showcase the provincial potential, strength, and investment, commercial and tourism opportunities to international agencies and enterprises, domestic and international business associations, and international non-governmental organizations; thereby, widening international integration for Cao Bang province, fostering practical cooperation, expressing the strong desire and determination for development of the province to achieve the goals of the 13th National Congress of the Party and the 19th Provincial Congress of the Party Resolutions.

Addressing the Conference, Mr. Hoang Xuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee said that Cao Bang had a strategic position, the shielding wall of the North frontier, the origin of the Vietnamese Revolution. With the advantages of a 333km borderline, adjacent to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, the province has a system of important border gates, crossings and trails to China. Additionally, the province is rich in mineral resources, many mineral deposits such as iron, lead, zinc and building materials have large reserves. The province is also famous for its endemic agricultural products including pears, grass jelly, glutinous rice, mandarines, tea, etc.
Blessed by nature with pristine beauty and due to the typical natural conditions of the northern mountainous area, Cao Bang consists of many sub-ecozones. Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark encompassed a lot of majestic scenic spots, distinct values of biodiversity, geology and geomorphology together with well-known archaeological and historical relics, among them are Ban Gioc waterfall, Nguom Ngao cave, Thang Hen Lake, Phia Oac –Phia Den national park, etc.

Discussions at the event revolved around the potential and strength of the province, key development fields, human resources and the advantages of tourism development orientation while conserving natural landscapes, heritages and developing Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark; paying attention to high-tech agricultural development with advantages, incentives and planning in the agriculture sector; open mechanisms and policies, solutions to improve investment environment; attraction of ODA funds for urban and transportation infrastructure development; creating favourable conditions for international non-governmental organizations’ activities and investments in the province.

Other activities at the event included a bilateral meeting between Mr. Trieu Dinh Le, Deputy Standing Secretary of the Provincial Party, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic in Viet Nam; meeting between leaders of the Provincial People’s Committee and 45 domestic and international enterprises; a courteous meeting between Mr. Hoang Xuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel in Viet Nam…

Besides the main activities, at the Conference venue, delegates were able to experience cultural-tourism space presenting the locality’s identity and lean about Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark.
Giving closing remarks, Mr. Hoang Xuan Anh, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirmed that the Conference was fruitfully organized, leaving international delegates with good impressions. He expected that the province would have opportunities to cooperate and welcome domestic and international organisations for surveys and investment activities in the coming time, contributing to the increasing development and integration of Cao Bang.
