The internatinal devegate and GGN paid a courtesy visit to the leader of party committee of Cao Bang province

At the meeting, Mr. Trieu Dinh Le, standing deputy Secretary of Party committee of Cao Bang province expressed his thanks and happiness on receiving the international delegates coming to participate at the International conference on “Sustainable tourism development through UNESCO global geopark model” scheduled from May 8^th -10^th .

It is honor of Cao Bang province to have Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark designated by UNESCO as global geopark. The organization of this International conference with the support from UNESCO was one of opportunities of Cao Bang to introduce outstanding geological, cultural, historical heritage, bio-diversity and landscapes of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark to the world. He hoped that the international delegates and scientists would share their experience and provided Cao Bang with recommendation in the development, preservation, and mobilization of the significances of the geopark for sustainable tourism development.

Mr. Guy Martini, Chairman of UNESCO global geopark council expressed his thanks for the hospitality of Mr. Trieu Dinh Le, Standing deputy Secretary to the deleation. He commented that this was one of very important events of UNESCO; there are not so many events like this in the GGN globally. Therefore, this was not only the opportunity of Cao Bang province to share and promote special significances of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark to the world, but also the opportunities of international delegates and scientists to participate at this international conference to learn, share best practices of Cao Bang and other countries in developing UNESCO global Geopark model.

The International conference on “Sutainable tourism development was organized from May 8^th-10^th 2019 with the objective to promote the UNESCO global geopark model and evaluate its role in facilitating tourism development based on the principle of sustainable preservation exploitation of resources of cultures and natural resources.

The preservation of bio-diversity, traditional cultures, history and natural landscapes through the geopark models through geopark model plays vital role to the sustainable development, then lays a good foundation for socio-economic development of local communities, and helps local communities understand the necessity to development the UNESCO global geopark model. The focus of the Conference was to promote discussion and experience sharing among scholars, experts, representative leaders and geopark on a suitable strategy to boost sustainable tourism development through geopark model, initiatives on community-based tourism, especially initiatives on livelihood improvement and preservation of heritage for inclusive and sustainable development.
