HOANG DINH GIONG MEMORIAL


This place was associated with the childhood of comrade Hoang Dinh Giong (1904 - 1947) - a faithful communist soldier, a talented figure of Cao Bang.
In the house, there are many precious documents related to Comrade Hoang Dinh Giong from his childhood to participation in Vietnam revolution activities for the national liberation: his major contribution to the development of Communist Party in Cao Bang, the Vietnam revolutionary movement in the period of 1930-1935, the time he was captured and struggled in the imperial prisons, especially, during exile in Africa. After escaping from prison, he continued to participate in the revolutionary activities. After the success of the August Uprising, he was taken the Commander of the Southward advance troop under the alias Vo Van Duc by President Ho Chi Minh. During the time in the South, he made great contributions to building and enhancing revolutionary movement. In 1947, he sacrificed at Ninh Thuan battlefield.

In recognition of comrade Hoang Dinh Giong's great contributions and dedication, in 1998, the Central Party and Government of Viet Nam awarded him Ho Chi Minh Order, Hero of People's Armed Forces title in 2009. In 2018, comrade Hoang Dinh Giong was listed as a typical senior leader of the Vietnamese Party and Revolution by the Politburo.
In 1998, Hoang Dinh Giong memorial was recognized as a national historical relic. In 2009, Hoang Dinh Giong family's house was reconstructed on the ground of the old house.
