Exploring the stunning cave of Nguom Ngao

Nguom Ngao cave – a spectacular cave hidden in a majestic limestone mountain in Ban Gun hamlet, Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh District, Cao Bang Province fascinates a great number of tourists interested in discovery. It is an attractive destination that should not be missed on the experiential route “Experience traditional cultures in a wonderland” of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark.
Nguom Ngao, or “Tiger cave” in the Tay language, is a precious gift blessed by nature to Cao Bang. The cave is more than 2,000 m long in total and has 3 main entrances: Nguom Ngao, Nguom Lom and Ban Thuon. According to scientists, this karst cave was formed about 400 million years ago. The cave is surrounded by peak cluster-depression karst terrain located on a planation surface at an altitude of 400-600m asl, with many hanging valleys and sinkholes.
All the things have been created by nature, from stalactites and stalagmites without any interference of human, yet beautiful and charming. Currently, Nguom Ngao cave is an ideal destination attracting a great number of domestic and international visitors.
