“Geopark embassador club” model is piloted in 6 schools ( 3 secondary schools and 3 high schools in Cao Bang city). Each club has 15 to 20 students with passion on exploring culture, history, geology, having English competence and is guided by 2 or 3 teachers. This activity aims at assisting a group of students to explore the Geopark with the guidance and support from their teachers and Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark Management Board.
In this field trip, the members of “Geopark embassador club” of Cao Bang High school, Cao Bang High school for gifted students and Cao Bang Ethnic Minority Boarding school had a chance to experience geological, historical and cultural heritage sites, and traditional craft villages. They also had the opportunities to learn more about the importance of heritage conservation and promotion, landscape and evironmental protection.
This objective of this activity is to broaden students’ social and cultural knowledge and to connect what they learn in school with real life. In addition, members of the Communication team of Ambassador club practiced communication skills such as: collecting information, taking pictures, recording clips, analysing information and communicating on social media. After the field trip, they will carry out propaganda activities to disseminate information about Non Nuoc Cao Bang global geopark to other students and community.
