Five-coloured noodles

Apart from enchanting natural landscapes, Cao Bang is famous for local delicacies. Cao Bang’s rich cuisine is known by many domestic and international tourists. One of the specialities worth mentioning is the five-coloured dried noodles, which is a famous unique and delicious food of Cao Bang.

On January 18th , the “Geopark ambassador club” of Na Bao high school organized an extracurricular session under the theme “Experience history and freedom” for 350 students at Pac Bo special national monument and Kim Dong heroic martyr relic (Ha Quang district).

On February 19th , the “Geopark Ambassador club” of Minh Thanh secondary school organized an event on UNESCO global geopark education and communication through cultural heritage promotion activities in Nguyen Binh district (Cao Bang province).

The Secretariats of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO met with Vietnam Geoparks Network

On January 25th afternoon, at the headquarter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Secretariats of the Vietnam Commission for UNESCO (Vietnam NatCom) met with the Vietnam Geoparks. Ms. Le Thi Hong Van, Former Permanent Representative of Vietnam to UNESCO Ambassador, members of the Vietnam NatCom, and Assoc. Prof. Tran Tan Van, member of the Advisory Committee of the Global Geoparks Network attended the meeting.

Vietnam Geoparks Network attended the 2023 Sum-up Conference of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO

On January 25th morning, the Vietnam Geoparks: Non nuoc Cao Bang , Dong Van Karst Plateau, Dak Nong and Lang Son attended the Sum-up Conference of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO. Mr. Ha Kim Ngoc, Chairman of the National Commission cum Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs chaired the Conference. There was the presence of the Technical Committees, the Management Boards of relics, Biosphere Reserves, global learning city and global creativity city.

The 2023 Sum-up and 2024 activity plan workshop of the Technical Committee for Vietnam Geoparks Network

On January 24th, 2024, at the Vietnam Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources, the meeting on reviewing the year 2023 and Activity plan for 2024 of the Technical Committee for Vietnam Geoparks Network was organized.

Meeting of the Organizing Committee for the 8th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium

On January 17th afternoon, Cao Bang Provincial People’s Committee held a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the 8th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium 2024 in Cao Bang. Mr. Hoang Xuan Anh, Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, the Head of the Organizing Committee chaired the meeting.

The Youth Union works of the “Geopark Ambassador” club of Thach An High School on communicating about Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark

On January 15th, the Youth Union of Thach An District in collaboration with the “Geopark Ambassador” club of Thach An High School conducted the Ceremony for launching the Youth Union works of “QR code scanning locations for geosites on the 4th Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark tourism route – Times of Fire Flowers” at Dong Khe Border Campaign Victory relic, Thach An District.

The development of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark – An overview of the year 2023

In 2023, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark actively carried out assigned tasks regarding opening networking activities, increasing communication and promotion of the Geopark, thereby gradually encouraging the development of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark matching with criteria of a UNESCO Global Geoparks and increasing the visibility of Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark to domestic and international visitors.

Annual sum-up meeting of the Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark Partner Network

On January 4th, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark organized the 2023 sum-up meeting and activity plan 2024 of the Geopark Partner Network.

Effectiveness of the cooperation between the Geopark Management Board and “Geopark ambassador” clubs in Geopark communication

In December 2023, the “Geopark Ambassador” club of Thach An High School conducted a project on “Using QR code and making promotional videos to communicate about Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark”. The Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark actively provided support in technical knowledge, documents and uploaded the club’s products on the Fan page of the Geopark.

Training workshop and capacity building on the Geopark for transport service providers and drivers

On December 27th, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark in collaboration with the Cao Bang Association of Transportation organized a training workshop on communicating and raising awareness about Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark and preparing for the 8th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium 2024 in Cao Bang.

Field survey of transportation service providers

On December 26th, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark organized a field survey to Geopark sites for the transportation service providers in Cao Bang Province.

Promotion of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark at the Ceremony of 79th Anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army

On the occasion of the 79th Anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army, on December 22nd, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark carried out activities on communicating about Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark to delegates and visitors visiting Tran Hung Dao Forest Special National Monument in Tam Kim Commune, Nguyen Binh District, Cao Bang Province.

Increasing capacity for the members of the Cooperative in Ban Danh – Lung Tao hamlet

On December 20th, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark organized a training on capacity building on environmental protection and geosite management with the participation of local people for the residents of Ban Danh – Lung Tao, Quoc Toan Commune, Quang Hoa District.

From December 19-21, the “Geopark ambassador” clubs of many schools in the Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark territory organized many extra-curricular activities on onsite communication about Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark on the occasion of the 79th Anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army (December 22nd, 1944 – December 22nd, 2023). Many activities of various forms attracted the participation of the Geopark ambassador clubs’ members.

Dia Tren paper-making village’s orientation for sustainable craft village tourism development

On December 20th, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark met with geopark’s partners in Dia Tren village, Phuc Sen Commune (Quang Hoa District) on discussing activities regarding preservation of the craft village and developing guiding plan on developing the craft village in a sustainable manner in 2024.

On December 12th, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark conducted a training workshop on preservation of community-based tourism village in Tay people’s cultural village in Khuoi Ky hamlet, Dam Thuy Commune (Trung Khanh District).

Nguyen Binh Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School organized an extracurricular session to learn about Non nuoc Geopark

On December 19th, Nguyen Binh Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School successfully organized a field learning trip to learn about Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark and communicate about 3 accords on Vietnam-China land border at Ban Gioc waterfall (Trung Khanh District) and some heritage sites on the East route of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark "Experience traditional cultures in a wonderland".
