Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGP’S representative won the national final round of the contest “finding youth representative to attend unesco global geoparks youth forum”

On August 26th, 2021, Le Thu Trang, representative of Non Nuoc Cao Bang UGGp won the first prize of the contest "Finding youth representative to attend UNESCO Global Geoparks Youth Forum" organized by the Sub-committee for Vietnam UNESCO global geoparks, Viet Nam National Commission for UNESCO, and became the official representative of Vietnam to the 1st UNESCO Global Geoparks Youth Forum expected to be held in Jeju Island, Korea.

In Cao Bang, the Tay and Nung preserve traditional customs demonstrating spiritual and cultural meanings and wearing lucky charms is one among them. To date, this custom is still practiced for the purpose of praying good luck and peace for newborn babies.

Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark, which has unique geological heritages of international significance, was designated by UNESCO as a UNESCO global geopark in April 2018. In addition to geological values, Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp is a land of rich and diverse traditional culture. The cultural values were created from the daily activities and customs and habits of the indigenous ethnic minority groups living in Cao Bang such as Tay, Nung, Dao, Lo Lo, San Chi, etc.
