The meeting to implement the tasks of building and developing the UNESCO Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark title to enforce the plan of the Provincial People’s Committee and UNESCO Expert’s recommendations; deploy management and promote the Magic Eye Moutain heritage site; activities of the Coordinating Board of monitoring tourism development of Tay ethnic culture village in Khuoi Ky village, DamThuy commune (according to decision No.33/QD UBND, dated January 3, 2024, of the People’s Committee of Dam Thuy commune); preparation Committee for cooperative model activities with the direct participation of people in Ban Danh-Lung Tao village (decision No.05/QD UBND, dated January 5, 2024, of the People’s Committee of Quoc Toan commune); activities to preserve and promote traditional craft villages, share community benefits and improve livelihoods for people in Phja Thap incense village, Dia Tren paper-making village (Phuc Sen commune, Quang Hoa). Investment in building facilities, development and management of geopark tourist routes, and environmental landscape sanitation. Coordination work to prepare for the 8th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium 2024 in Cao Bang.
Also at the meeting, delegates discussed and clarified the achieved results, and raised difficulties and obstacles in implementing the task process, at the same time, they agreed to propose some solutions to improve work efficiency in the future.
In conclusion, the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism director recognized and highly appreciated the results of coordination in promoting heritage sites and enhancing the tourism development of two districts Quang Hoa and Trung Khanh. He also emphasized again that the two districts have many geological heritage sites and craft villages imbued with ethnic and cultural identities, so the implementation needs to be more focused and promoted.
The preparation task for the 8th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium 2024 in Cao Bang is a key task in 2024. Requesting units to pay attention to coordinate work prepare the facilities well, and strengthen the management and protection of heritage sites and natural landscapes.
Through the meeting, the aim is to help localities have the opportunity to exchange information, experiences, and more clearly orient specific tasks in 2024.
