Meeting of the Communications Subcommittee of the 8th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium 2024

The meeting ratified the following drafts: the proposal and decision for consolidating, assigning tasks for the Communications Subcommittee, and carrying out the implementation plan for the Communications Subcommittee.

Accordingly, the Communications Subcommittee focuses on developing a communications plan before, during and after the Symposium with the following contents: Making reports, columns, reporting the Symposium’s information on the central and provincial television stations, Cao Bang Newspaper, and Provincial central press agencies; propagating through meetings, thematic activities at agencies, units, places of residence, and extracurricular programs at schools. Propagating visually with images, banners, slogans, flags, billboards, outdoor LED screens, and loudspeaker systems in public; encouraging people in Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark heritage sites areas to clean up, wear traditional ethnic costumes to welcome delegates and visitors when they come to experience... Thereby, promoting unique cultural activities with the message "Cao Bang Declaration" to connect tourism, culture, and geological science of Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp with international friends.

At the meeting, the members of the Subcommittee focused on discussing the contents and communication programs before, during and after the Symposium in the central and local press; extracurricular activities; forms of communication and introduction of tourist routes at Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark, ensuring close coordination and synchronization in performing assigned tasks between levels, sectors and localities following requirements. At the same time, promptly handling arising tasks; creating an exciting atmosphere for cadres, party members and people of all walks of life to actively participate in preserving and promoting the value of Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark.

The 8th APGN Symposium in 2024 will be organized at an international scale in the province from 5 to 15 September 2024, with the theme "Local communities and sustainable development in the Geopark area"; it is expected that 800 - 1,000 domestic and international delegates will attend.
