Volunteer selection for the 8th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium in Cao Bang

On July 10, at the headquarters of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DCST), Protocol, Logistics and Celebration Subcommittee (P, L, C) of the 8th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium in 2024 organized an interview to select volunteers. The chosen ones will be representatives for ethnic minorities living in the Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark area to participate in promoting the image of ethnic groups at the APGN Symposium 2024 in Cao Bang.

The interview participants include Mr. Sam Viet An, Director of the DCST, Head of the Subcommittee on P, L, C; Mr. Truong The Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Head of the Subcommittee on P, L, C; Ms. Doan Thi Le An, Deputy Director of the DCST - Head of the Working Group assisting the Subcommittee on P, L, C for the APGN Symposium 2024 in Cao Bang; Mr. Vi Tran Thuy - Director of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark Management Board.

To prepare human resources to support the implementation of activities within the framework of the APGN Symposium 2024 in Cao Bang, the Subcommittee on P, L, C has developed a Plan to select volunteers representing 6 ethnic minorities living in Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark, including: Tay, Nung, Mong, Dao, Lo Lo, and San Chi to participate in promoting the image of the ethnic groups at the Symposium. Candidates are female Vietnamese citizens aged 17-30, currently students or working at state agencies in Cao Bang province.

After the preliminary round, the Subcommittees on P, L, C evaluated, reviewed, and considered selecting 11 suitable candidates out of 36 applications to participate in the interview round. During the interview, the candidates took turns answering questions related to their knowledge and experience in participating in communication activities, their readiness and level of commitment to fully participate in communication activities before, during, and after the Symposium, foreign language ability, talent, etc.

Based on the interview results, the P, L, C Subcommittees will select 6 capable and experienced candidates who meet the requirements of the Organizing Committee to effectively support activities within the framework of the APGN Symposium 2024 in Cao Bang.

The selection aims to find volunteers representing ethnic minorities living in the Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark to promote activities such as photo models, characters in media clips, participating in welcoming delegates, foreign affairs activities... within the framework before, during and after the APGN Symposium 2024 in Cao Bang. By promoting these activities, contributing to introducing the beauty of the homeland and the friendliness of the local people, at the same time creating a strong impression on domestic and international delegates attending the APGN Symposium 2024 in Cao Bang.
