Meeting of the Communications Subcommittee of the 8th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium 2024 in Cao Bang

The meeting approved the decision to establish and assign tasks to the Communications Subcommittee consisting of 13 members from departments, boards, branches and localities. Plan to implement the tasks of the Communications Subcommittee.

The conference is organized on an international scale, taking place from September 7-15, 2024, organized by the People's Committee of Cao Bang province in coordination with the Vietnam National Committee for UNESCO and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There will be 800 - 1,000 domestic and international delegates attending.

Accordingly, the mission of the Communications Subcommittee will focus on building a communication plan before, during, and after theSymposium. Organize a press conference to introduce the Symposium in Hanoi and Cao Bang (expected July-August 2024) to provide information on activities and operational direction of the Provincial People's Committee; Preparation work to organize the Symposium; program and sidelines events of the Symposium; Introduce Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark to central and local press and media agencies; foreign news agency residing in Vietnam.

Communication on media and social networks. Local press agencies develop communication plans and pages... about the Symposium and Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark; Coordinate with the Vietnam National Committee for UNESCO to propagate on some international newspapers residing in Vietnam; Media links on regional, central, and local stations, advising on live broadcasting of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Symposium on Vietnam Television; Build a specialized page and propaganda column before, during and after the Conference.

Visual propaganda, hanging banners, slogans, flags, outdoor LED screens, public address systems... in the city and districts in the province.

During the event, the organization focuses on propaganda and reflects on the activities and events taking place during the Conference days; sidelines activities of the Conference; experiences 5 routes of Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark.

At the meeting, members discussed contents and media programs about the Symposium in the central and local press; agreed on press conference time in Hanoi; forms of communication about geological heritage and indigenous cultural heritage on each route of Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark; Information for domestic and foreign delegates about propaganda work on the Conference Portal https://www.apgn2024.vn/vi

Concluding the meeting, Head of the Propaganda Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda Subcommittee Be Thanh Tinh emphasized: The symposium is an opportunity to introduce and promote geological heritage and unique indigenous culture of the UNESCO Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark, connecting Cao Bang tourism with member countries of the UNESCO Global Geopark Network, contributing to the implementation of breakthrough content on sustainable tourism and service development in the period 2022-2025, gradually turn tourism into a key economic sector, follow the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress. Recommended to members of the Communications Subcommittee, based on the mission requirements of the agency, unit, and locality, develop an outline for each task so that in the future, they can synthesize it into a general outline for propaganda before and during and after the Symposium. Accordingly, deploy each task, content, and method of organizing propaganda appropriately and effectively, spreading unique cultural activities that take place before, during and after the Symposium, spreading widely the message "Cao Bang Declaration" to connect tourism, culture, and geoscience of UNESCO Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark with international friends.
