The training course was attended by more than 150 participants who are leaders of communes, officers of district people’s committee, tourism service providers, women unions, youth unions in the districts.
Thach An district is located in Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO global geopark territory. The district possesses lots of potential for tourism development with a primative cave system including Nguom Puc cave, Na Mec cave provincial relic site, and especially The 1950 Border Campaign Special National Relic Site. In addition, the customs and habits, and traditional crafts of local people are still well-preserved and promoted.
The training course provided the participants with the following information: the development of Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO lobal geopark, the implementation ofsustainable tourism development strategy in Cao Bang province, tourism promotion, shortcomings in the management, heritage value exploitation and conservation in Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO lobal geopark area.
In addition, the participants had the opportunities to practice the development of sustainable tourism development, and guided to develop for a participatory sustainable tourism development plan; learnt more about the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in the implementation of the sustainable tourism development plan associated with the development of Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO lobal geopark.
In the afternoon, participants spent time discussing and presenting their idea on the conservation and promotion of the heritages of Thach An district..
