Geopark education for communities in Phuc Hoa district

On September 24th 2019, the Management board of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark, Department of Cultures, sports and tourism cooperated with People’s committee of Phuc Hoa district organized the training on Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark for communities and authority of Phuc Hoa district.

Training on Unesco Global Geopark for tour guides in Cao Bang province

From October 30th 2019-November 1st 2019, the Management board of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark cooperated with the Office of Tourism Management conducted a training course on the geopark for the tour guides in Cao Bang on Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCo global geopark.

Vuon Cao Vit - Trung Khanh - Cao Bang

Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO global geopark, the territory embedded with distinguishing values on cultures, history, natural landscapes and geological heritages, and bio-diversity. There is a system of well-preserved natural preserved areas, particularly the Cao Vit gibbon -landscape conservation area in Trung Khanh district. This conservation area was established under the Decision 2536/ QĐ-UBND dated December 15th 2006 by the People’s committee of Cao Bang province with a total area of 1.656,80 hectare locating on the territory of Ngoc Khe, Ngoc Con and Phong Nam communes of Trung Khanh district for the protection of Cao Vit gibbon.

The experts of Unesco arrived at Dak Nong Aspiring Geopark for evaluation mission

From 7th -11th July 2019, the Evaluators of UNESCO arrived at Dak Nong aspring geopark for evaluation mission. As scheduled, the evaluators had a meeting with People’s committee of Dak Nong Province and followed by a 3 day field visit missions.

International conference on “sustainable tourism development through geopark model” in Cao Bang province

Enhancing promotion of Non nuoc Cao Bang Unesco Global Geopark in 2019

Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO global geopark (UGGp), founded on 22nd December 2015, includes 9 districts (Ha Quang, Hoa An, Nguyen Binh, Tra Linh, Quang Uyen, Trung Khanh, Ha Lang, Phuc Hoa and Thach An) with a total area of 3,072 km2. The geopark contains 130 unique heritage sites; some of them are ranked by the prestigious scientific magazines to have international significances. Since its establishment, the Management board of Non nuoc Cao Bang has received lots of support from the Party Committee, People’s council, People’s committee, and the Steering committee as well as active cooperation from Departments and districts in the its development process.

Eleven sites and extensions in Asia, Europe, and South America receive Unesco Global Geopark

On 17 April 2019, UNESCO’s Executive Board today approved the designation of eight new sites demonstrating the diversity of the planet’s geology as new Geoparks. The Executive Board also approved the extension of three existing Geoparks. With this year’s additions, the number of sites in the Global UNESCO Geoparks Network is brought to 147 in 41 countries.

Summing – up meeting of 2018 and developing activity plan 2019 of the Geopark task force of Viet Nam

On January 18th 2019, the Geopark Technical task force organized the Summing-up meeting of 2018 and discussing the Acitivity plan 2019. 

Meeting on progress of the development of Unesco Global Geoparks of Non nuoc Cao Bang, Cao Bang and Dong Van karst plateau, Ha Giang

On January 17th 2019, the Management boards of Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO global geopark and Dong Van Karst plateau met with the Institue of Geology and Mineral resources, and Mr. Guy Martini-Senior consultant and Chairperson of UNESCO global council to evaluate the progress and develop the plan for the development of the geopark in 2019.

Networking enhancement between Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp (Viet Nam) and les maunres Aspiring Geopark (France)

From 24th-27th January 2019, the deleation of Les Maures Aspiring Geopark (France), paid a study tour visit to Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO global geopark to learn about the development and management of Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp.

On November 24th 2018, Cao Bang province organized the Ceremony on the receiving the Certificate a of Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO global geopark and the Certificate of National special historical monument for the 1950 border victory site in Thach An, and the Program on “Going through the heritages sites of the 6 northern provinces of Viet Nam”.
