Provincial Steering committee meeting On Review of 2017 and implementation of action plan 2018

On March 15th, 2018, the Provincial Steering committee meeting on evaluation performance of 2017 and implementation of action plan 2018. Mr.Hoang Xuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party committee, Chairman of People’s committee of Cao Bang province cum Chairman of the Provincial steering committee (PSC) chaired the meeting.          

Primary School Students Develop Geopark-themed Bento Meals in Itoigawa UNESCO Global Geopark

Third year students (8-9 years of age) at a local elementary school have collaborated with a local supermarket in order to develop the “Hikari Geo Bento” a bento-style boxed lunch with a Geopark theme.

Promotion of UNESCO Global Geopark branding by Geopark Communities: Sai Kung Carnival 3-3

On 3 March 2018, a mega event, titled “Sai Kung Carnival 3–-3”, was organized by the geopark communities of Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark (HKUGGp) in Sai Kung to promote UNESCO Global Geopark branding. More than 2,000 people attended the event, which made it lively and memorable.

LEGEND OF “CAU CHUA CHENG VUA” (NINE LORDS STRUGGLING FOR THE THRONE)

The legend of “Cẩu chủa cheng vùa” is about the establishment of Nam Cuong State, the rule by King Thuc Che and his son Thuc Phan, who later became the King of Au Lac united State, then moved the capital to Co Loa in present-day Hanoi’s Dong Anh District. On the other hand, the legend authentically describes the land of Cao Bang, with a flat valley in the center, surrounded by ranges of mountains. A series of places in the ancient Ban Phu Citadel were also described through the legend, reflecting the perceptions of the ancient people about natural landforms.

On April 9, the 204th session of the UNESCO Executive Board began in Paris.

Developing training material of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark for training in school from the academic year 2018-2019

To promote the eudcation and communication for students in schools on Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO global geopark, from the begininig of 2018, Department of Education and Training chaired the development of this training material.

HOA AN DISTRICT ORGANIZED A PILOT COMMUNICATION SESSION ON NON NUOC CAO BANG GEOPARK IN SCHOOL

Upon the implementation of the Plan 63/63/KH-SVHTTDL-SGD&ĐT on communication and propaganda of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark, on January 11th 2018 the Office of Education and Training of Hoa An people’s committee organized an Extra curricular activities on the Geopark in Hoang Tung Lower secondary school. This event was attended by representatives from Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark Management board of Department of culture, sports and tourism, office of Environment and Natural resources, School board of schools in Hoa An district.

Delegation of Cao Bang province attended the 204th meeting of UNESCO executive board

Upon the implementation of the Letter No 11 dated February 2018 of National Commission for UNESCO and the invitation letter of the Permanent delegation of Viet Nam to UNESCO on participation at the 204th meeting of UNESCO executive board from April 8th to April 19th in France, on April 6th 2018 People’s committee of Cao Bang province issued a Decision to send a delegation of the province led by Mr. Hoang Xuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party committee, Chairman of People’s committee of Cao Bang province, Chairman of the provincial Steering committee for the development of global geopark attending the 204th meeting.

Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark received UNESCO global geopark label

On April 12, Executive board of UNESCO approved the Resolution recognizing Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark as a UNESCO global geopark.
