Members of "Geopark ambassador" club of Cao Bang High school for the Gifted introduced their club's activities to the evaluators

“Geopark ambassador club” is an initiative piloted in the school year 2019-2022 with an aim to improve the effectiveness of geo-education activities in schools in Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark territory.  The core of this model is to develop a group of students (with a passion for exploring culture, history, geology, biology, and adequate English competence) to learn about the geopark under the guidance of Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp Management Board and geological experts. Based on document research and their knowledge, the club members organized communication activities to introduce the geopark’s heritage values to other students. Instead of learning passively, students will be active in the acquisition and transfer of knowledge.
In the school year 2019-2020, the model was piloted in 6 schools in Cao Bang city and in 2021, it was replicated in 136 Secondary and High schools in the Geopark territory. Cao Bang High school for the Gift is among the first 6 schools to implement this club model.
On their visit to Cao Bang High school for the Gifted, the UNESCO Geopark evaluators met with the teacher in charge of the club and the club members. They were provided with basic information about the organizing structure, the members’ roles, activity plans, and some implemented activities.
