Submissions to the contest were 14 creative models of teachers, parents and children. The models were skillfully and carefully made, showing the charm and outstanding values of heritage sites on 3 experience routes of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark. For example, there were models 100% made from natural and recycled materials such as the product of Class 4-year-old C, models of eye-catching layout such as Ky Sam temple model of Class 3-year-old C, Hoai Khao tourism-based village model of Class 4-year-old D, elaborate models such as the complex of Ban Gioc waterfall, Nguom Ngao cave and Khuoi Ky stone village of Class 5-year-old D, Back to the origin model of Class 3-year-old E, etc. Adding to the success of the contest was the impressive self-composed poem about Incense making village of Class 3-year-old E or the captivating presentation of Class 5-year-old A, C, etc.

Applying STEM approach to create applicable and highly educational products, via vivid and beautiful models, teachers are able to convey the beautiful nature, historical, cultural, geological and biodiversity values to their students even though they have never been to the geo-sites…the contest and models helped children and their parents gain more knowledge and experiences, thus, increasing their pride of homeland and communicating about Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark.

In addition, the contest also raised the message of joining efforts to protect the green - clean - beautiful environment through models made from natural and available materials such as straw, dried loofah, tree branches, rocks, recycle items such as cardboards, straws, sponges, etc. with their dexterity and creativity, teachers, children and their parents created vivid, colourful and interesting models demonstrating the real geo-sites, thereby appealing people to use natural and recyclable materials to make school things and toys right at their schools.

The contest is really an interesting experience for teachers, parents, especially preschool children. With their eagerness, excitement and confidence in presenting their models, those kids were really “go green ambassadors” spreading the beauty of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark.
