Exciting activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the Global Geoparks Network (GGN) organized a series of meaningful events to honor the journey of preserving geological heritage and spreading cultural and natural values while affirming its commitment to promoting sustainable development on a global scale.

Towards the 20th anniversary of its establishment, the Global Geopark Network has promoted the implementation of communication programs and campaigns to promote and educate about the value of geological heritage and community culture in the Geopark area. Notable events are: GGN Workshop on Sustainable Development Goals in Geoparks; GGN Anniversary Ceremony at UNESCO Global Geoparks; 37th International Geological Congress in Busan, Korea; GGN 20th Anniversary Ceremony held at UNESCO Global Geopark Non Nuoc Cao Bang,
The 8th International Course on UNESCO Global Geoparks at UNESCO Xiangxi Global Geopark (China).

In addition, global geoparks actively encourage people to participate in meaningful activities on the occasion of International Earth Day (April 22), International Museum Day (May 18), World Environment Day (June 5), competitions to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Global Geopark Network... to raise awareness of the importance of heritage and environmental protection to the younger generation.
