Non nuoc Cao Băng UGGp celebrate the international day of Indeginous people

Decentralization of the management of information pannels in Non nuoc Cao Bang UGG

From May, 25th, 2020 – June, 2nd, 2020, Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism cooperated with the People’s committees of Cao Bang city and dictricts in the Geopark area to conduct a field mission for the inventory and handover of the information pannels at the heritage sites to local authorities and communities to improve the management and promotion of heritage sites in Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark.

The Workshop on Sustainable Tourism Development

On 14th May2020, Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark management board, Culture, Sport and Tourism Department of Cao Bang province cooperated with the VIE036 project (which supported by Luxembourg Agency for Development cooperation) organized a Workshop on Sustainable Tourism Development. The Workshop was participated by representatives of Departments, People’s committee of Cao Bang city and districts, Tourism association, and tour operators.

Workshop on developing guidline for geopark education in school

On February 25th 2020, Department of Education and training cooperated with the Management board of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark to organize a workshop on developing Framework document and Guideline for geopark education through “Geopark discovery club in school”.Representative leaders of Department of Education and training, Management board of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark and teachers of subjects like English, biology, geography, literature and history from 3 lower secondary schools and 3 Upper secondary schools participated at the Workshop.

People’s committee of Cao Bang province organized a summary meeting to review the progress on the development of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark

On February 18th 2020, People of People’s committee of Cao Bang province organized a summary meeting to review the progress on the development of Non nuoc Cao Bang geopark 2019 and propose the Action plan 2020. Representative leaders of deparments and districts in geopark territory participated at the meeting. Mr. Hoang Xuan Anh, Chairman of People’s committee of Cao Bang province chaired the meeting.

On November 22 2010, The General Department of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism cooperated with Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the Conference on Developing Ban Gioc tourism products engaging with Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO global geopark. Mr Sam Viet An, Director the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism and Mr. Nguyen Dao Dung, Deputy Director of General Department of Tourism chaired the Conference.

Enhancement of Promoting the image of Cao Bang tourism through networking activities and events of GGN

UNESCO Global Geoparks are single, unified geographical areas where sites and landscapes of international geological significance are managed with a holistic concept of protection, education, and sustainable development. Their bottom-up approach of combining conservation with sustainable development while involving local communities is becoming increasingly popular. A UNESCO global geopark. There are four fundamental features to a UNESCO Global Geopark. These features are an absolute prerequisite for an area to become a UNESCO Global Geopark. (1) Geological heritage of international value; (2) Management: UNESCO Global Geoparks are managed by a body having legal existence recognized under national legislation; (3) Visibility: UNESCO Global Geoparks promote sustainable local economic development mainly through geotourism; (4) Networking: participating, organizing UNESCO global geopark activities.

After the International conference on “Sustainable tourism development through UNESCO global geopark model”, from May 9-10th 2019, the international delegate and GGN paid a field visit to experience Non nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO global geopark.

On April 8th 2019, the Steering committee for the development of the geopark of Cao Bang province, organized the review meeting and launch the activity for 2019. Mrs. Nguyen Bich Ngoc- vice Chairwomen, Mr. Trinh Huu Khang-vice Chairman of People’s committee of Cao Bang province, and representative leaders of departments and districts attended the Meeting.
