Schools in the Geopark territory responded to the World Cleanup Day

On September 16-17, members of “Geopark ambassador” clubs of the schools in the Geopark territory conducted activities to respond to the Green Sunday movement and the World Cleanup Day 2023.

With the slogan “join hands for a cleaner world”, the schools actively carried out different communicational and environmental activities such as: cleaning up, collecting trash and liiter, and planting trees to contribute to developing a green-clean-beautiful Earth through meaningful activities of the students.

Each small yet meaningful action contributes to the green environment

On this occasion, members of “Geopark ambassador” clubs were educated about environmental protection, developing the habit of limiting single-use plastic products, and recycling bottles and plastic products to reduce the plastic waste; thus, contributing to spreading meaningful activities to the community, fostering joint activities for landscape and environmental protection in the Geoaprk territory and motivating tourism development in association with socio-economic development.

The “World Cleanup Day” 2023 was widely spread

Through the activities in response to the World Cleanup Day campaign, the students were partly aware of the importance of the surrounding environmental protection. It is expected that the students will properly understand green habits and lifestyles so that they will be active environmental communicators preventing activities harmful to the environment, joining hands for a green-clean-beautiful environment and for "a clean world - thousands of healthy souls".
