Capacity building for the villagers of Ban Danh – Lung Tao hamlet (Quang Hoa District)

The Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark presented an evaluation report on the situation of tourism activities at Mountain Angel Eye, difficulties and challenges in the site management; the progress in implementing sustainable tourism development activities at this geosite; the orientation of sustainable tourism development in association with landscape and environmental protection and livelihood improvement, and the implementation of responsible tourism activities at Mountain Angel Eye to the reprentatives of groups and households of Ban Danh-Lung Tao hamlet (Quang Hoa District).

At the workshop, the representatives of the households in the hamlet directly shared the difficulties, and problems that they are facing and their expectations regarding such issues as the shortage of budget for the establishment of the cooperative, budget for a parking lot, the environmental issues, etc. The representative leaders of the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark and relevant divisions of Quang Hoa District and Quoc Toan Commune gave explanations and consultancies for the implementation of paid services such as parking service can start from basic investment suitable with initial conditions and then will be gradually upgraded; explanations and consultancies were also given for the cooperation for benefit sharing and task arrangement among members of the cooperative.

After discussion, the representatives of households in the hamlet agreed to prepare procedures to establish a cooperative and supported the urgent implementation of the following: building a paid parking lot, shopping stall venue, transportation services by motorbikes, buffalo or horse pulling wagons, traditional ethnic custom rental, etc.

The worshop aims to support and increase capacity of the people who registered for membership of the cooperative and the people who aspire to provide tousist services at Mountain Angel Eye National Scenic Spot, towards sustainable tourism and service development in association with landscape and environmental protection, livelihood improvement and benefit sharing through the establishment of the cooperative.
