Khuoi Ky village actively responds to on-site waste classification

At the meeting, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark and the People’s Committee of Dam Thuy Commune guided the villagers of Khuoi Ky about their responsibility in landscape and environmental protection, onsite waste classification and domestic waste collection and treatment in rural areas. Finalizing the regulations of the Steering Committee for community-based tourism development at Khuoi Ky village. The solution for domestic solid waste collection and treatment in rural area in Dam Thuy Commune aims at implementing a single domestic solid waste collection with the objective to control environmental pollution, protect environment and local people’s health, contributing to sustainable socio-economic development goals. After the meeting, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark handed over 07 dual compartment waste cabinets for sorting plastic and recyclable waste and 14 dual compartment waste bins for onsite organic and recyclable waste sorting for the villagers of Khuoi Ky and Lan’s homestay, a Geopark partner.
 

Activities on landscape and environmental protection and benefit sharing in the community have been continually carried out in collaboration of the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark and the People’s Committee of Dam Thuy Commune. These activities have received the response and active participation of the villagers. The initial achievements are matching with sustainable tourism development orientation of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark.
