Dia Tren paper-making village’s orientation for sustainable craft village tourism development

On December 20th, the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark met with geopark’s partners in Dia Tren village, Phuc Sen Commune (Quang Hoa District) on discussing activities regarding preservation of the craft village and developing guiding plan on developing the craft village in a sustainable manner in 2024.

In 2023, Dia Tren village welcomed quite a number of visitors to experience and buy paper products. The increasing number of visitors coming and buying products is partly due to the cooperation among geopark’s partners. Besides, the households have studied and produced many new products diversified from traditional paper such as notebooks, large and thick paper sheets, fans, coloured papers, etc.

At the meeting, the representatives of the Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark and the households of Dia Tren village exchanged the cooperative activities between the households of Dia Tren village and Zo project social business and oriented activities on preservation and promotion of the traditional craft in 2024, tourism service development and benefit sharing among the community.

Foreign tourists are excited about experiencing the craft 

The Management Board of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark suggested activities regarding benefit sharing among the community such as establishing a production group and assigning tasks to members of the group; group members will share their experience and techniques to increase their skills; thus, improving the paper quality to meet the quality and aesthetic requirements of the market.
Besides, the Management Board of the Geopark also proposed the orientation for the development of a raw material area for large scale paper production and the development of experiential tourism associated with traditional craft village in Dia Tren in the coming time.
