Increasing the role of the Steering Committee for community-based tourism development of Khuoi Ky village

The workshop aimed to propose the heritage conservation and environmental protection associated with tourism development via establishing cooperatives and benefit-sharing groups with the direct participation of local people living near Geopark sites, at the same time, generate the activity plan 2024 for Khuoi Ky community-based tourism village, a site on the East tourism route of Non nuoc Cao Bang Geopark.
Also at the workshop, the first meeting of the Steering Committee for community-based tourism development of Khuoi Ky village took place. The Steering Committee members discussed and came up with the regulations of the Steering Committee. The regulations which were agreed on by all the members include the following issues: regulations on fee collection from accommodation service providers; time for organizing touristic activities; waste collection; developing regulations on transparency use of the fund, or creating a separate bank account to manage the fund, etc.

The members of the Steering Committee for the new term were elected and introduced at the meeting. The Committee proposed to successfully implement meaningful community activities towards the stable and sustainable development for the Khuoi Ky village in the future.
