The training conference reinforced knowledge about the UNESCO Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark, oriented students to participate in the management and promotion of heritage sites near schools, at the same time guided students to promote club activities in the coming time.
At the training conference, students practiced developing an activity plan for the "Discovering Geoparks with Me" Club and activities in response to events launched by the UNESCO Global Geopark Network, such as: World Environment Day (June 5); International Day of Indigenous Peoples (August 9); Make the World Cleaner Campaign; International Geodiversity Day (October 6) ...; practicing communication skills of the "Discovering Geoparks with Me" Club and soft skills such as teamwork, communication, presentation ...; practicing making and presenting a plan to implement the activity "Preserving ethnic languages for students in the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark" at school.
In the field survey program, the club members came up with ideas, developed content and implemented activities at heritage sites: Mountain God's Eye, Ban Gioc Waterfall, Khuoi Ky Stone Village (Trung Khanh); King Le Temple, Hoang Tung Stone Garden, Nguom Slua Cave, Nguom Boc Cave (Hoa An); Lung Luong Stone Chrysanthemum, Keo Yen Landscape, Soc Giang Hanging Valley (Ha Quang); Phja Oac Granite and Kolia Tea Plantation (Nguyen Binh); Bo To Sugarcane Village, Phat Tich Truc Lam Ta Lung Pagoda, Ta Lung International Border Gate (Quang Hoa).
At each survey point, the Club members organized attractive and meaningful collective activities, such as: the Heritage Pairing game - strengthening friendship; drawing lots to answer questions related to the preservation of ethnic languages and historical, cultural, geological and biodiversity values in the Geopark area; showing talent with performances on the theme of Cao Bang homeland... Through learning activities and interesting and useful practical experiences, the Club students were able to consolidate their knowledge, hone their teamwork skills and have the opportunity to practice and affirm their personal strengths.
The training program aims to foster knowledge, skills, and promote students' initiative and creativity in improving the effectiveness of UNESCO Global Geopark education activities at schools. Thereby, arousing pride in national traditions, love for the homeland, promoting awareness of protecting, preserving and promoting the values of cultural and natural heritage of the homeland for the young generation in the locality.
